Former Presidential Envoy to the AR of Crimea Tasheva becomes MP of Ukraine

A new member of the Ukrainian parliament, Tamila Tasheva, has taken the oath of office.

This was reported by Yaroslav Zheleznyak of the Voice faction.

Thus, the Verkhovna Rada now has 401 MPs.

On December 4, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Tamila Tasheva from the post of his permanent representative in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The corresponding decree No. 800/2024 was published on the President's website. According to the published document, Tasheva wrote a letter of resignation herself.

Tasheva herself noted that she will soon start working in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, despite her statement that she did not intend to do so and plans to remain the permanent representative of the President of Ukraine in the ARC.

Tamila Tasheva, a Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar statesman and public figure, co-founder of the CrimeaSOS organization, was appointed Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine on April 25, 2022. She was responsible for the development and implementation of reintegration policy, as well as supporting legislative initiatives aimed at preparing Crimea for de-occupation and reintegration.

Her achievements include participation in the creation of the Strategy for the De-occupation and Reintegration of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, drafting bills on the status of indigenous peoples of Ukraine, the rights of victims of politically motivated persecution, civilian hostages and prisoners of war, and the abolition of non-resident status for Crimeans. Tasheva also contributed to the concept of the development of the Crimean Tatar language and participated in the organization of the Crimean Platform Summit.

Currently, human rights activist Olga Kuryshko is temporarily acting as the Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

On November 25, the Central Election Commission (CEC) determined Tasheva to be an elected MP. She was the next in line after Ivan Pryimachenko, who filed a statement of resignation. Pryimachenko was recognized as an MP after the death of Oleh Makarov in October 2024. However, he later withdrew to continue working for the online educational platform Prometheus.
