Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov ordered the dismissal of Yuriy Piskun from the post of head of the Department of Engineering Protection of the City Territory and Coastal Development of the Odesa City Council.

This was reported by the press service of the municipality.

The reason for the dismissal was Yuriy Piskun's statement. He was appointed to this position in October 2022 on the basis of a proposal by First Deputy Mayor Mykhailo Kuchuk. At that time, Yuriy Piskun was granted the 11th rank of local government official and a bonus of 50 percent of his official salary, including a rank bonus and a longevity bonus.

Before that, Vitaliy Parfenov was the head of the department.

Yuriy Piskun is known for the fact that in June 2015, while serving as the military commissar of Odesa region, he was detained together with his subordinate while receiving a bribe of 1,700 dollars. He was charged with creating an organized group to extort bribes.

Later, the former military officer was released on bail in the amount of 1 million 100 thousand hryvnias. However, in December 2016, he returned to the pre-trial detention center due to violation of the bail conditions. He left the city and spent some time in the village of Avangard, while his lawyers skipped court hearings.

Earlier, Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov appointed his former deputy Serhiy P idhainyi as the head of the city's Khadzhybey district administration. Serhiy Pidhainyi took office on August 22, but the order on his appointment was published on August 26. At the same time, Yevhen Omelchuk, who had previously headed the district administration, was transferred to the position of Pidhainyi's first deputy. Meanwhile, Dumskaya reported that Serhiy Pidhainyi had already decided to resign because he had been offered a position in Kyiv, but there was no official order to dismiss him.
