Igor Koval, acting mayor of Odesa, has appointed Oleksiy Botezat as his advisor on a voluntary basis.
The city council’s press service released a corresponding announcement.
As stated in the order, the new advisor will assist Ihor Koval for one year on issues related to housing and utilities. Oleksiy Botezat was born on August 9, 1980. In July 2020, Oleksiy Botezat was appointed head of the Main Directorate of the State Geocadastre in Kyiv.

In 2014, he ran for the Verkhovna Rada as number 15 on the United Ukraine party list. He also served as head of the Legal Department of the Odesa Regional State Administration. In November 2020, he was a member of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (KRAIL).
Earlier, Ihor Koval, the acting mayor of Odesa, signed an order dismissing Oleksandr Kozubenko from his position as head of the municipal institution “Civil Defense Structures.” Oleksandr Kozubenko had been serving as acting head of the municipal institution since July 1—he held the position for one week. The order cited “by mutual agreement” as the reason for his dismissal.
In June, Acting Mayor of OdesaIhor KovalappointedOleksandr Polokhach as acting director of the Department of Municipal Security. Oleksandr Polokhach had previously served as deputy director of the department and head of the Division of Planning and Coordination of Emergency Response.
He will perform these duties until the city council finds a new director. It should be noted that the acting mayor signed the order on May 28, but it was not made public until the evening of June 1, even though Oleksandr Polokhach had already begun working in his new position as of June 1. Oleksandr Polokhach joined the Department of Municipal Security from the State Emergency Service.
