While crossing the state border, detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine detained former Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko in the Midas case.

This was reported by the Center for Public Investigations with reference to the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

Currently, according to prosecutors, priority investigative actions are underway in accordance with the requirements of the law and court sanctions. Halushchenko was the Minister of Energy of Ukraine from April 29, 2021, to July 17, 2025, after which he headed the Ministry of Justice until November 19, 2025.

On November 10, the NABU and the SAPO conducted searches of Zelenskyy's former business partner and co-owner of the Kvartal 95 studio Tymur Mindich, as well as Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko, who previously headed the Ministry of Energy.

On November 11, law enforcement officers detained five people as part of an investigation into corruption in the energy sector, and seven people were notified of suspicion.

According to the head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, Oleksandr Abakumov, Timur Mindich left Ukraine and the NABU is now investigating how.

Later, anti-corruption authorities reported a large-scale operation in the energy sector. The criminal organization has set up a scheme to systematically obtain undue benefits from Energoatom's contractors in the amount of 10% to 15% of the contract value.

Against the backdrop of a large-scale corruption scandal, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to terminate the powers of the Supervisory Board of Energoatom ahead of schedule and removed Herman Halushchenko from his duties as Minister of Justice. And on November 19, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dismissed two ministers at once - then Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko and Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk. Svitlana Hrynchuk submitted her resignation.
