The SBU served a notice of suspicion to a resident of Oleshky who collaborated with the invaders. The man ran for a pseudo-council from the United Russia party and supplied food to the invaders.

This is stated in the suspicion of the Prosecutor General's Office.

In the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region, law enforcement officers found that a resident of Oleshky, 49-year-old Vitaliy Makarenko, voluntarily cooperated with the Russian occupiers. According to the investigation, the man not only agreed to head the sports department in the illegal "administration of the Aleshky municipal district" but later also became a "deputy" from the United Russia party.

As the investigators found out, back in September 2023, Makarenko established contact with representatives of the Russian occupation forces and was appointed "head of the sports department" in the administration formed by the occupiers. He organized work in the field of sports and culture in accordance with the requirements of the Russian authorities, held events using Russian symbols and promoted the integration of local youth into the Russian system.

Despite the understanding that Oleshky is part of the sovereign territory of Ukraine, Makarenko continued to work for the invaders. In April 2024, he was included in the list of candidates for the so-called "Council of Deputies of the Aleshky Municipal District," where he ran as a candidate of the Russian party. After being elected, Makarenko began holding personal receptions of citizens, participating in propaganda events, and helping the Russian military with food supplies. For this, he received awards from the occupation administration.

SBU investigators suspect the man of two episodes of collaboration: voluntarily holding a position in an occupation authority and voluntary election to an illegal "local government" in the temporarily occupied territory (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

If proven guilty, Vitaliy Makarenko faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

According to the Myrotvorets resource, he is a former commander of dormitories in Oleshky who voluntarily cooperated with the Russian occupiers and helped organize a football match on Russia Day.

Another collaborator coach from Genichesk, Volodymyr Kokul, is also wanted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Having agreed to cooperate with the occupation authorities, he was officially entered into the search database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on October 4.
