Crimean women Larysa Gaidai, Tatiana Pavlenko (Simonenko) and Elvira Aboyazova, who disappeared in March 2024, were found in the Akmesdzhit Detention Center-2.

This was reported by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center.

The activists recorded the facts of their disappearance a year ago, but only recently received confirmation of their whereabouts.

But the occupation authorities of Crimea have not provided any official information about the reasons for the women's detention.

"This is another example of a typical practice that the Russian occupation structures have been actively using since 2024: people are abducted or detained, and then neither their relatives, nor human rights activists, nor the public are informed about them. Information about the place of detention appears only many months or even a year after the arrest," the CTRC noted.

The organization also notes that the persecution of women of all ages is increasing in Crimea. Therefore, the advocates for justice and freedom on the occupied peninsula call on the international community to increase attention to cases of enforced disappearances, persecution of women and gross human rights violations on the temporarily occupied peninsula. These actions of the Russian occupation administration not only contradict international law, but also create an atmosphere of fear, isolation and impunity.

The Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov said that enemy security forces detained Crimean Tatars in Crimea who came to visit relatives after a long emigration. The returning Crimeans are under the attention of the FSB.

It is already known that the occupation authorities are holding 260 Crimeans in captivity, who are being persecuted for political reasons. At the same time, 153 of them are Crimean Tatars.
