In Kherson, volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross distributed more than 1,000 food packages to the most vulnerable people in one day.

According to the press service of the Kherson Regional Red Cross, this was made possible through the cooperation of the Kherson Regional Red Cross Organization with the UN World Food Program.

The aid is aimed at supporting the elderly aged 60+ and people with disabilities who are in particular need of assistance. Due to the constant shelling of the city by Russian troops, going to the store remains dangerous and physically challenging for many.

The food parcels include the most essential products: cereals, pasta, flour, canned meat, vegetable oil, salt and sugar. Volunteers continue to work to provide humanitarian aid to everyone in need.

Earlier, rescuers in Kherson Oblast received help from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society. The society provided local firefighting units with medical backpacks.

Recently, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society provided Kherson with two more mobile shelters. Today, thanks to the charitable organization's help, 21 mobile shelters are operating in 12 settlements of the region.

The Red Cross also plans to help create an underground hospital in Kherson Oblast. It is about equipping the future underground hospital and prenatal center. The international team will visit these locations in the near future.

In Mykolaiv, active members of the regional organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society were honored on International Volunteer Day. Volunteers were awarded the highest honors from the military administration, commemorative medals "For Volunteer Activity" and certificates of honor.
