The National Operetta of Ukraine will spend more than 2 million hryvnias to purchase six modern stage lights. The supplier of the equipment is an Odesa-based company, which until recently was represented in the district council by a deputy from the European Solidarity party.

This was reported by Kyiv.Vlada.

On April 20, 2026, the Kyiv National Academic Operetta Theater and Entertainment Institution signed an agreement with LLC "Light Trading" for the supply of stage equipment through the Prozorro system. The purchase price amounted to UAH 2.11 million.

By the end of May, the company is to supply six DTS CORE full-rotating spotlights. The cost of one such device is about UAH 353 thousand.

According to the YouControl analytical system, LLC "Light Trading" was registered in Odesa in 2017. The founder and director of the company is Mykola Orlov, who was elected a deputy of the Odesa District Council in 2020 from the European Solidarity party. In September 2024, he resigned his deputy mandate ahead of schedule.

The company is active in the public procurement market. According to the Clarity Project, Light Trading has already concluded 196 contracts totaling more than UAH 313 million. Among the largest customers are Lviv Opera and Kyiv National Academic Operetta Theater.

The operetta theater is headed by Bohdan Strutynskyi. The institution is subordinated to the Department of Culture of the Kyiv City State Administration, headed by Serhiy Anzhyak. The work of the department is coordinated by the deputy head of the KCSA Valentyn Mondriyivskyi.

Also, the repair of the M-05 Kyiv-Odesa highway worth more than UAH 79 million was awarded without an open tender to a company that has been repeatedly involved in criminal proceedings. Law enforcement officers were checking for possible abuses, including kickbacks, the use of fictitious employees, and illegal mining.
