In the Mykolaiv region, 40 fires broke out overnight, most of them in fields and ecosystems. The fire destroyed crops in every district of the region, with the total area of fire reaching tens of hectares.

This was reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv region.

On July 11-12, 40 fires were registered in Mykolaiv region, most of them in natural ecosystems and on farmland. Fields were burning in all districts of the region.

In particular, in Mykolaiv district, the fire engulfed crop residues and wheat on the roots - the flames spread to 46 hectares, 22 of which were crops. In some places, the fire came close to residential buildings and damaged private property.

Three fires were also reported in the private sector. In Voznesensk, a garage was on fire, which rescuers extinguished over an area of 20 square meters, preventing the fire from spreading to a residential building. In the villages of Maryanivka and Syla, outbuildings with hay were on fire - the area of fire in both cases was 30 square meters.

Separately, rescuers extinguished a combine harvester fire in the village of Kostiantynivka, Mykolaiv district, but they were unable to save the equipment.

The State Emergency Service reminds that any spark can cause a large-scale fire during the heat wave and asks people to be responsible, not to burn dry grass, not to throw cigarette butts and to follow fire safety rules.

During the day on June 30 and on the night of July 1, five large-scale fires were recorded in Mykolaiv region, destroying more than 520 hectares of grain crops.

In addition, the region has calculated the environmental damage caused to the nature reserve fund as a result of the full-scale war: the total amount of losses is UAH 300 billion.

In particular, the fire damaged more than 602 hectares of forests in theKinburn Spit Regional Landscape Park, more than 121 hectares within the Black Sea Biosphere Reserve, and almost 7,000 hectares in the Sviatoslav Biloberezhzhia National Nature Park.
