An indictment against a local resident who held a senior position in the occupation administration was sent to court in Kherson region. He is accused of collaborative activity - the case will be considered in absentia.
According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, the suspect voluntarily cooperated with the occupation authorities on the territory of the Chaplynka community in Kakhovka district no later than April 2024.
The investigation established that he took the position of the so-called "first deputy head for finance and economy of the Chaplynka municipal district administration". In this pseudo-position, the man performed organizational, administrative and economic functions, actually being responsible for the financial and economic activities of the occupation structure.
In particular, he coordinated interaction with local businesses, including agricultural enterprises, facilitated the implementation of economic programs of the aggressor state, implemented its policy in the field of pricing for socially important goods and participated in propaganda activities.
The accused is currently wanted. The trial will be held in absentia. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU in Kherson region.
Recently, a deputy of the Askania-Nova village council from the OPFL was notified in absentia of suspicion of collaboration due to his work in the occupation administration.
Earlier, a former Odesa official, who was previously linked to Roman Nalyvanyi's apartment scams, was convicted in absentia for collaboration. The court found that after the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022, Nalyvanyi headed the illegally created so-called housing office in the Suvorov district of Kherson. According to eyewitnesses, the newly appointed head demanded that employees obtain Russian passports and open accounts in Russian banks, promising stable work and salaries in return.
