Yukhym Turetskyi, one of the most famous Ukrainian sound engineers who worked at the Odesa Film Studio for over 45 years and became an integral part of its history, has passed away in Odesa. He passed away after a long and fruitful career, leaving a significant mark on Ukrainian cinema.

This was reported by the press service of the Odesa Film Studio.

As noted in the press service, Turetsky was a master of sound direction, a profession that remains almost invisible to the viewer, but significantly affects the quality and atmosphere of the film. His colleagues remember him as a man who could "hear" cinema: in his work, every sound, from footsteps to mechanical rumbling, became part of the drama and emotional mood of the film.

During his decades of work at the Odesa Film Studio, he contributed to numerous films, including Spring of Hope, Two Steps from Paradise, Gambrinus, Complaint, Psychic, The Lame Will Go In First, Anecdotal, Secondary People, Chekhov's Motifs, The Adjuster, By the River, and many others. His contribution was highly appreciated by both directors and actors, and he had a reputation among his colleagues as a decent, sincere and extremely talented person.

He graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Film Engineers in 1975. He was a member of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine. He also worked on the films of the famous director Kira Muratova.

The farewell to sound engineer Yukhym Turetsky will be held on December 10 at 11:30 a.m. in the morgue of the Hospital of Water Workers at 1 Sudnoremontnaya Street. The funeral is scheduled for 12:30 at the Western Cemetery.

Also recently, on October 13, Anna Severina, a veteran librarian and former director of the Mykhailo Hrushevsky Library, died in Odesa. She worked in this institution for more than four decades, making a significant contribution to the development of the city's cultural life. In 1984-1989, she headed the library. Her colleagues remember her as a fair, sincere, and dedicated person who always found time to support them with advice and a warm word.
