The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office has served a notice of suspicion in absence to a 43-year-old collaborator who joined the occupiers.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation found that during the occupation of the region, the man not only remained in the occupied territory, but also actively cooperated, voluntarily joining the ranks of the United Russia party. Already in September 2023, he participated in illegal elections, as a result of which he received a deputy seat in the so-called council of deputies of the Nizhneseerogogogsky municipal district.

Having received a fake status, the suspect became an active tool of Russian propaganda. He regularly spoke at public events, where he spread narratives that Kherson region was allegedly a Russian region and praised the aggressor's army in every possible way.

The collaborator paid special attention to working with young people: he visited schools where he tried to impose the occupiers' ideology on children. The SBU in Kherson region is currently conducting a pre-trial investigation into the case.

We would also like to remind you that the representative of the banned 'Vladimir Saldo Bloc' in the regional council, Serhiy Sorokunsky Sr. left the walls of the pre-trial detention center.

The judges of the Dniprovsky District Court granted the lawyers' motion and changed the measure of restraint for Serhiy Sorokunsky from custody to bail. Although the amount of money paid remains unknown, as this data was hidden in the published documents, the MP has already left the pre-trial detention center. His children, Serhiy Sorokunsky Jr. and Inna Sorokunska, met him at the remand center.

According to the case file, Serhiy Sorokunsky Sr. is suspected of large-scale cooperation with the occupiers. According to the SBU, the deputy participated in the 'confiscation' and export of more than 130 tons of Ukrainian sunflower to Russia, and also facilitated the seizure of agricultural machinery from local farmers.
