The BES detectives in Odesa Oblast exposed an exporting company that evaded taxes on a particularly large scale. The case was sent to court.

This was reported by the press service of the Bureau of Economic Security.

The investigation found that the company's commercial director deliberately failed to reflect the receipt of soybeans in the tax returns for the first quarter of 2024. Later, the company planned to export these unrecorded products to Turkey through the ports of Greater Odesa, which led to tax evasion in the amount of UAH 44.3 million.

During the pre-trial investigation, the BES detectives ensured that the company reimbursed the state in full.

The Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office added that they had sent an indictment to court against the company's director on the fact of intentional tax evasion on a large scale (Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Such a crime is punishable by a fine of up to UAH 425 thousand with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years with confiscation of property.

Since the beginning of the year and up to July 2024, taxpayers in Odesa region have paid more than UAH 15 billion of the unified social tax. This is 13.4% or UAH 1.8 billion more than in the same period in 2023.

Meanwhile, a grain exporting company evaded taxes totaling UAH 54 million. It is about more than 27 thousand tons of wheat and 29 thousand tons of corn.

In addition, it became known that the Odesa-based company did not pay taxes for the export of agricultural products, which caused the state to suffer losses of more than UAH 15 million. The financial director was brought to justice.

In addition, an agricultural exporting company in Odesa region was forced to pay more than four million hryvnias in damages to the state budget.
