Explosions Rock Mykolaiv Amid Air Raid Alert and Missile Threat

On the morning of February 19, explosions were heard in Mykolaiv during an air raid alert. The military warned in advance of the threat of a missile attack from Crimea.

The information about the explosion was confirmed by the mayor Oleksandr Senkevych.

He noted that the circumstances are currently being investigated. Local media and eyewitnesses also reported the sounds of explosions.

An air alert was announced in the city at 09:22 and canceled at 09:30. Information on the consequences of the strike is being clarified.

Earlier, according to the Mykolaiv Regional Military Command, on the night of February 19, air defense forces shot down an enemy Shahed 131/136 drone in the Mykolaiv region.

On February 18, at 7:55 a.m., Russian troops attacked the Kutsurub community with an FPV drone. Fortunately, there were no casualties. On the same day, at 14:48, the enemy carried out a similar attack on the city of Ochakiv in the Ochakiv community. No casualties or damage were reported.

On February 17, at 18:35, the Russian military fired artillery at the Kutsurub community of Mykolaiv district. The attack damaged a private house and a power line in the village of Kutsurub. Four settlements of the community were left without electricity: Kutsurub, Ivanivka, Yaselka and Dmytrivka.

In addition, massive Russian shelling of a residential area of Odesa caused serious interruptions in electricity and heat supply. More than 500 residential buildings, 14 schools and 13 kindergartens were left without electricity and heating. The attack damaged hospitals, clinics and social infrastructure facilities, including a children's clinic and a kindergarten.

Meanwhile, on the night of February 19, air defense forces shot down two enemy Shahed-131/136 drones over the Kherson region. However, Russian forces continued to shell the region, attacking both residential areas and civilian infrastructure.
