The former Crimean law enforcement officer was sentenced to 14 years in prison for high treason - he sided with the occupiers after the seizure of Crimea. Working in the structure of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, he helped to strengthen the occupation regime on the peninsula.

This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

A former law enforcement officer from Crimea was sentenced to 14 years in prison with confiscation of property for treason and defection to the occupiers.

It is the former head of the Linear Department of the Simferopol Airport, who, after the occupation of the peninsula, not only remained in service, but also moved to work for the so-called "Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs on Transport".

According to the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the man voluntarily swore allegiance to the aggressor state back in 2014. By his actions, he helped the Russians strengthen the occupation regime, ensured the functioning of illegal "law enforcement agencies" and actually carried out the orders of the occupiers to the detriment of Ukraine's interests.

Although the former law enforcement officer was tried in absentia, this did not prevent us from proving his guilt: the case file, testimony and documents convincingly showed that he deliberately betrayed the state he had sworn an oath to.

Kyiv also began hearing the case of a Crimean pro-Russian blogger accused of aiding the aggressor state. According to the investigation, after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, he was actively engaged in propaganda in support of the Russian army, publicly endorsed its actions, and called for fundraising for ammunition for the occupiers.

The defendant helped the enemy to identify pro-Ukrainian residents of Crimea - in fact, he contributed to repressions in the temporarily occupied territory.

In addition, the autonomy's prosecutor's office announced a new suspicion of treason - this time against a former prosecutor from Crimea. After the seizure of the peninsula in 2014, he remained working in the structure of the occupation authorities and participated in the creation and operation of the so-called courts and law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation.
