Europe allocates 47 million to repair veterans' hospital in Mykolaiv

Mykolaiv is planning to overhaul the third floor of the hospital for war veterans at a cost of almost UAH 47 million. The work is to be completed by the end of 2026 at the expense of the European Union.

This is evidenced by data from the Prozorro procurement system.

The Department of Urban Planning, Architecture, Capital Construction and Development Project Support of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration announced a tender for the overhaul of the hospital for war veterans.

The expected cost of the work is UAH 46.9 million.

It is a major overhaul of the third floor of the rehabilitation department of the Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital for War Veterans. The selected contractor must complete the work by December 31, 2026.

The procurement procedure is an open tender with special conditions: participants can submit their proposals until June 7, and the auction is scheduled for June 9. The minimum price reduction step is UAH 469 thousand.

Funding is provided under the Ukraine Facility program with the support of the European Union for 2024-2027. The customer can provide an advance payment of up to 50% of the annual cost of the work, the rest will be paid in stages after the funds are received from the budget.

Contractors need to provide a bank guarantee for UAH 180 thousand.

Last September, the Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital for War Veterans was also renovating its premises. 2.5 million from the budget was planned to be spent on this. But the tender was canceled due to violations in the tender documentation.

And the overhaul of the shelter at the veterans' hospital is being carried out by a company with a dubious reputation. The contract with Antares-Bud LLC was signed in June 2024, and in early 2025, the financing terms were amended. The hospital is an important rehabilitation center for veterans, and the storage facility is designed for 300 people. UAH 19 million was allocated for the work. The contractor is currently involved in criminal proceedings for alleged embezzlement of budget funds.
