During the shelling of the Odesa region, a drone carrying a camera crashed in Moldova

On the morning of September 24, four Russian drones violated Moldova’s airspace. This occurred during a Russian attack on the Odesa region.

According to Moldovan President Maia Sandu, at least one of the drones exploded in the north of the country.

“The war being waged by Russia poses a threat to all of Europe. We condemn this war and stand with Ukraine,” the Moldovan leader emphasized.

Police added that experts from the police department’s explosives and technical affairs unit have preliminarily determined that the drone found in the Florești district has features characteristic of the “Gerbera” type used by Russia.

According to preliminary findings, this is the first time a device of this type has been detected on Moldovan territory, particularly one equipped with an onboard camera.

Experts determined that the drone collided with a tree, fell to the ground, and exploded.

Police officers are continuing their investigation to determine the exact model, manufacturer, technical specifications, and all circumstances of the incident.

The exact identification of the device will be confirmed after forensic examinations are conducted.

The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned the repeated violations of the country’s airspace by Russian drones, carried out as part of the Russian Federation’s massive attacks on Ukraine.

“These incidents constitute a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova and directly threaten the lives of citizens. Responsibility for them lies entirely with the Russian Federation, which is expanding its aggressive war beyond the borders of Ukraine,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the Russian Federation to immediately cease its attacks on Ukraine and any actions that threaten the security of the Republic of Moldova and its citizens.

As reported by Intent, on the night of September 24, the Russian Federation carried out a massive combined attack on the Odesa region. A hospital, a high school, residential buildings, a shopping center, warehouses, and other civilian facilities were struck. There are casualties.

According to the prosecutor’s office, an 82-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man were injured. They received medical care at the scene.
