A deputy of the village council, who headed an illegal authority in Kalanchak, will be tried in Kherson region

This was reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The post says that under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional and Skadovsk District Prosecutor's Offices, an indictment was sent to court against a deputy of the Kalanchak village council on the fact of collaboration (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that in the summer of 2023, the accused joined Putin's United Russia party and in September, as a candidate for deputy, took part in the elections to the illegal authority - the "Council of Deputies of the Kalanchak Municipal District of the first convocation". Having received the mandate, the woman took part in a meeting of the occupation body, where she was elected the so-called "head of the council". In this position, she appointed "deputies", approved the composition of "deputy commissions" and regulated the work of the body.

The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in Kherson region.

Earlier it was reported that an ex-expert of the district council, who became the occupying head of Chaplynka, would be tried in Kherson region. The investigation established that the accused, having professional knowledge and experience in local government, decided to build a "career" under the occupiers. To do this, in October 2023, she took part in a meeting of the so-called "Council of Deputies of the Chaplynka Municipal District of Kherson Region", where she was elected to the position of "Head of the Chaplynka Municipal District of the Region". In her pseudo-position, the woman performed organizational, administrative and economic functions. She supported the decisions and actions of the aggressor state and contributed to the formation of a positive image of the occupation authorities.

It was also reported that a resident of the Kherson region, who worked in a senior position for the occupiers under a pseudonym, was punished.
