Denmark donates 10 special vehicles for emergency repairs to Mykolaiv region

Before the start of the heating season and preparation for winter, Denmark, in cooperation with UNOPS, has donated 10 emergency repair vehicles to the Mykolaiv region.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

The keys to the vehicles were handed over to the drivers by Morten Bødskov, Minister of Business, Industry and Financial Affairs of Denmark, on October 8 during a meeting with Vitaliy Kim, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration. In addition, the newly appointed Ambassador of Denmark to Ukraine , Thomas Lund-Sorensen, came to the city on a working visit.

It is known that four vehicles are to be transferred to the regional utility company Mykolaivoblteploenergo, and six more to other communities in the region: Buzka, Novoodeska, Stepivska, Novobuzka, Pervomaiska settlement and Pivdenoukrainska territorial communities.

According to the head of the JFO, this assistance plays a key role in preparing for the winter season and restoring critical infrastructure under the threat of the occupier.

Earlier, it was reported that the construction of modular boiler houses in Mykolaiv, for which the government had previously allocated UAH 1.1 billion, would not be completed by the start of the heating season.

The process was delayed due to the late allocation of funds. We are talking about the purchase of 18 block-modular boiler houses with a total capacity of over 70 megawatts. Their installation should provide the city with backup heating in case the central thermal power plant is damaged.

''This is a difficult process, given the time when the funds were allocated. We are late for the start of the heating season. Nevertheless, some of these modular boilers will be installed on time, so we will be catching up with our schedule,'' Kim said, adding that several boilers have already been delivered to Mykolaiv and are scheduled to be connected next month.
