In Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv region, a court has succeeded in returning property worth UAH 36 million to the state and recovering half a million hryvnias from a dishonest tenant.

According to the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the regional commercial court upheld the claim and ordered the company to pay almost UAH 500,000 for the late return of the leased state-owned premises.

The disputed non-residential premises of about 1,000 square meters in Pervomaisk were leased to a private company by the Regional Office of the State Property Fund of Ukraine. After a full-scale invasion began, the company filed an application for termination of the agreement, but did not actually return the premises to the state, continuing to use them free of charge.

Due to the Fund's inaction in returning the property, the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit demanding the eviction of the tenant and the recovery of the debt. During the court proceedings, the premises worth more than UAH 36 million were voluntarily returned to the state, and the proceedings in this part were closed.

Measures are currently being taken to fully enforce the court decision.

The prosecutor's office also filed a lawsuit against the local administration for the illegal transfer of state land to private ownership. It was established that seven citizens were allocated about 40 hectares of land near the river, allegedly for agriculture, although this land was supposed to remain in state ownership.

In addition, a deputy of the village council of Mykolaiv region illegally appropriated a land plot. His actions caused almost half a million hryvnias in damages to the Pervomaisk village council. The official faces up to eight years in prison.
