Coordination Center for Regional Reconstruction Established in Ukraine

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has established a Coordination Center for Regional Recovery.

According to Taras Melnychuk, a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, the Coordination Center for Regional Recovery was established as a temporary advisory body of the Cabinet of Ministers.

"The Center was established to ensure coordinated actions of central and local executive authorities, local governments, enterprises, institutions and organizations to coordinate regional recovery," the politician said.

In his turn, MP Oleksiy Honcharenko said that the Coordination Center's tasks include strategic planning and management of the recovery, monitoring of progress in the regions, and interaction with international partners.

The Coordination Center for Regional Reconstruction will include the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction (Chairman), Deputy Ministers (Defense, Economy, Health, Energy, Education, Digital Transformation, Social Policy, etc.), First Deputies of all heads of regional military administrations.

Earlier, the Government of Ukraine allocated UAH 1.8 billion for the restoration of 180 communities in nine regions most affected by Russian aggression. Among them are Kherson and Mykolaiv regions. The funds have been allocated for the most urgent needs: emergency restoration work after shelling, construction of protective shelters, purchase of special equipment for utilities, and repair of heating and gas networks.

Communities in Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Luhansk, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and Chernihiv regions received funding. In particular, in Kherson region , Kherson city community will receive the most funds - UAH 75 million, and Novokakhovka community - UAH 64 million. Other communities, including Stanislavska, Bilozerska, Borozenska, Vysokopilska, Kalynivska, and Novovorontsovska, will receive from UAH 2.9 to 15.9 million.
