Contractor pleads guilty to misappropriation of a quarter of a million in Odesa region

The Mykolaiv District Court of Odesa Region has approved a plea agreement between the prosecutor and the director of the private enterprise Profit-Resource on charges of misappropriation of budget funds and forgery.

As stated in the court's verdict, the director of the company was sentenced to five years in prison with the deprivation of the right to hold positions of manager, director, deputy director or other positions that provide for the right to conclude contracts, sign financial documents, dispose of funds or property in enterprises, institutions or organizations of all forms of ownership, as well as engage in economic activities related to the performance of work for budgetary funds or the provision of services under contract and the conclusion of contracts with state bodies.

However, under the agreement, he was released from serving this sentence after a three-year probationary period.

Background.

In the fall of 2024, the Department of Education, Culture, Youth, Sports and Tourism of the Andriyevo-Ivaniv Village Council of Berezivskyi District announced in the Prozorro system a procurement for the overhaul of the facade of the building of the Andriyevo-Ivanivska Health Care Center of Berezivskyi District, the winner of which was Profit-Resource PE. The procurement was conducted in the format "without the use of an electronic system" - the price of the issue was UAH 910 thousand.

During the execution of the agreement, the director of the company drew up a deliberately false official document - an act of acceptance of completed construction work for September 2024, where he overstated the amount of work done, indicating the cost of construction work in the amount of UAH 458.6 thousand instead of UAH 206.6 thousand, which he should have actually received. Therefore, investigators accused him of embezzling UAH 252 thousand.
