Construction company searched in Odesa

A construction company in Odesa evaded taxes. Due to its actions, the budget lost UAH 8 million.

This was reported by the Bureau of Economic Security.

Detectives of the BES 's regional office found that representatives of a company engaged in the construction of residential and non-residential premises did not reflect in their tax reports the obligation to pay VAT on state construction orders during the year. As a result, the state budget lost more than UAH 8 million.

Law enforcement officers conducted 12 searches in residential and office premises in Odesa and Odesa region. As a result, office equipment, accounting documents and draft records confirming the financial and economic activities of the suspects were seized.

Criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 3 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (tax evasion on a large scale).

Meanwhile, at the end of October, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation conducted searches at the territorial office of the Bureau of Economic Security in Odesa region.

According to local journalist Iryna Hryb, law enforcement officers were checking for possible tax evasion by several grain traders, which could be part of a scheme to fraudulently engage in the grain market. Another journalist, Taras Seredich, wrote about the involvement of the heads of the Odesa Prosecutor's Office and local customs in the criminal scheme. According to him, the scheme was run by Dmytro Verbytskyi, a former deputy of former Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin.

However, Maksym Kondratiuk, a senior detective of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Odesa region, managed to declare new real estate worth more than UAH 4 million. At the same time, the detective's annual salary is 420 thousand hryvnias. He bought the apartment on October 24, 2024, with a one-time expense of UAH 844.2 thousand.
