Confiscated Russian methanol in Odesa region has halved in price

The National Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) failed to sell a total of 1,574 kilograms of methanol, which is stored in 12 metal barrels of 200 liters each.

According to the protocol in the Prozorro.Sale system, the auction scheduled for July 31 did not take place due to the lack of bidders.

Themethanol was detained by Odesa Customs and handed over to the agency by Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi Court in 2024. This is a Russian-made product of OJSC Shchekinoazot (Russian Federation, Tula region, Shchekinsky district, Pervomaisky working settlement), TOMET LLC (Russian Federation, Samara) and Togliattiazot LLC (Russian Federation, Samara region, Togliatti).

The future winner of the auction will have to pay customs duties in the amount of UAH 44 million 886.9 thousand to the ARMA account, while the starting price of the lot was UAH 56 million 925.1 thousand.

The new lot price is already half as much - UAH 28 million 462.6 thousand, and the new auction is scheduled for August 13.

This is not the first time that the price of a lot has been halved after one or two failed auctions. In April, for the third time, ARMA managed to find a buyer for more than 136 tons of fertilizers stored in the port of Izmail in Odesa Oblast. It was 272 big bags with a total gross weight of 136,380 kilograms. The only bidder was Promtorg Group Limited Liability Company, which agreed to purchase the fertilizers for UAH 871,877. The starting price of the lot was UAH 1 million 453.1 thousand, but the third auction was held in the format of a hybrid Dutch auction. This format is used when conventional auctions do not attract participants. The peculiarity of the Dutch format is that the price during such an auction is not increased, but decreased.
