Representatives of the working group that assesses compliance with the rules of operation, sanitary conditions and free access for citizens checked the beaches of Odesa and found violations.

Thiswas reported by the press service of the Odesa City Council.

In particular, it was about the placement of sun loungers near the water, which obstructed the passage and illegal temporary structures on the embankments. The tenants received orders to immediately eliminate the deficiencies.

Two days before this inspection, on August 20, the list of beaches allowed for swimming was expanded in Odesa. Since the beginning of the recreational season, several dozen officially authorized beach areas have been opened in Odesa, suitable for swimming and recreation. In particular, municipal enterprises in Odesa received a beach for people with disabilities at the 11th station of the Big Fountain.

Also last week, an inspection in Odesa revealed 11 beaches operating without official permission. During the inspection on August 19, three more beaches were found in Kyivskyi district: "Nadiia (between the collector and the traverse No. 17 of the second stage of the SPS); Chaika (between the traverses No. 6-A and No. 6-B of the second stage of the SPS); and the beach at the 15th station of the Big Fountain, located between the traverses 14 and 15.

Meanwhile, prosecutors have begun investigating officials of the utility company and the Odesa City Council over suspicions of abuse in the arrangement of paid parking lots by the sea. According to the investigation, the area of the sites was underestimated in the contracts, and access to the beaches was restricted by barriers. As a result, proceedings have been initiated over abuse of office by officials of the Odestransparkservice utility and one of the departments of the city council.

During the searches, law enforcement officers recorded these violations and have already taken steps to dismantle the barriers and ensure free access to the beaches. The work to restore legal access to the coast is currently underway through joint efforts of law enforcement.
