Chief Psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine got rich by a million dollars and bought apartments in Odesa and Kyiv

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained the chief psychiatrist of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who is the deputy head of the Central Military Medical Commission and decides on the fitness of military personnel for service.

According to the SBU press service, according to the case file, this official acquired unjustified assets worth more than USD 1 million during the full-scale invasion.

At the same time, the defendant did not reflect the relevant property in his declaration and registered it in the names of his wife, daughter, sons and other unauthorized persons.

According to the investigation, during 2022-2024, the suspect acquired:

During the searches, SBU investigators also found USD 152 thousand and EUR 34 thousand.

The suspect is currently being served a notice of suspicion under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Article 368-5 (illicit enrichment) and Article 366-2 (declaration of false information).

The issue of choosing a measure of restraint and seizure of the official's assets is being decided. The sanction of the articles provides for a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.

Earlier, the Kyiv District Court of Odesa ordered the police to launch an investigation into a lawsuit filed by an Odesa resident regarding the actions of military personnel of the territorial center for recruitment and social support. Also, in Odesa region, a verdict was announced against an employee of public utilities for ignoring a summons. The man has to pay a fine of 5.1 thousand hryvnias.

In Odesa region, a resident of Liubashivka was tried for failing to appear at the military commissariat after receiving two calls. The man was found guilty and has to pay a fine. The court considered the case in a simplified proceeding, as the defendant pleaded guilty and agreed to consider the case without his participation.
