Chief engineer of Odesa utility company killed in war

Vitaliy Ivanychko, a 55-year-old resident of Odesa, died at the front. The man worked at Odessmiskelektrotrans as a chief engineer of the track and structure repair service.

This was reported by the utility company.

"The loss of a real person, an exemplary family man and citizen of his country.
This is a catastrophic loss for all of us. We express our sincere condolences to his family!"
the post reads.

The funeral ceremony for the fallen defender will take place on January 11 at 10:00 a.m. in the House of Officers.

On January 9, a day of mourning was declared in the Lyubashiv community in Odesa region. Serhiy Burdov, the head of the village of Pokrovsk, who served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, died of a heart attack in a military unit. The soldier was 33 years old.

On January 5, Serhiy Golubev, vice president and executive secretary of the Odesa Regional Chess Federation and an arbiter of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) , died .

Earlier, it became known that the artist of the Odesa Regional Academic Drama Theater had died. Serhiy Yurkov, who was considered a favorite of many Odesa theatergoers, died at the age of 67.

Also in Odesa, Eduard Psyadlo, a lecturer at Mechnikov Odesa National University, passed away. He was 79 years old.

Andriy Androsovych, a cameraman of the TV channel "Hromada Television" from the city of Pivdennyi, Odesa region, died on December 18 in hospital from a serious injury received during a combat mission in Sumy region.

On December 17, Viktor Poprevych, a retired judge of the Prymorskyi District Court of Odesa, who is known for finding activist Serhii Sternenko guilty of kidnapping in February 2021, died.

Before that, the former head of the Reni Sea Commercial Port, Dmytro Volodin, suddenly passed away. The man died in the city of Chornomorsk.

Earlier, relatives and friends said goodbye in Odesa to a volunteer and author of the book "Girls at War. Dolboklyuy's Journey" Evgeniya Dukhopelnikova, who died on December 17.
