Chessmen, Calibers and Daggers: Russians attack electricity generation and transmission facilities across Ukraine

The Russian military attacked energy system facilities across the country with missiles. Emergency power outages have been introduced.

According to Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko, the enemy is firing missiles at electricity generation and transmission facilities across Ukraine.

"The transmission system operator has urgently introduced emergency power outages. Where possible, rescuers and power engineers are already working to eliminate the consequences. Light will win!" said Galushchenko.

According to power engineers, due to the massive strike, emergency blackouts have been introduced in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovs'k and Donetsk regions. Also, since 06:53, emergency power outages have been applied in Cherkasy region. In addition, there is currently no power supply in some parts of Odesa. Emergency blackouts have been introduced in Kyiv region by order of NPC Ukrenergo.

In the morning, on November 17, starting at 04:30, the enemy attacked the city with several waves of Shahed 131/136 kamikaze drones. As a result, private homes, a multi-storey building, cars, a shopping center, and an infrastructure facility were damaged. Several fires also broke out. Two women were killed, four adults and two children were injured. Earlier, on November 16, at 19:25, the enemy launched a missile attack on an infrastructure facility in the city, previously Iskander-M.

Seven people were injured in the Russian attack in Kherson region . The enemy attacked 13 towns in the region with bombs. The occupiers hit a critical infrastructure facility and an educational institution; residential areas of the region's settlements, including a high-rise building and 9 private houses. The occupiers also damaged a garage and private cars. As a result of Russian aggression, 7 people were injured.
