A humanitarian mission to rescue people has begun in Oleshky, in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region. A bilateral ceasefire has been declared in the area where the mission is taking place.

This was reported by Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President.

According to him, Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada’s Commissioner for Human Rights, has traveled to the site and will be responsible for coordinating the operation. Budanov noted that he is in constant contact with the ombudsman.

"An important humanitarian mission has begun in Oleshky. A bilateral ceasefire has been declared in the area where the mission is taking place. Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, has traveled to the site and will be responsible for coordinating the process. We are in constant communication with him,” Budanov said.

He emphasized that the main task is to ensure the successful and safe conduct of the operation to rescue Ukrainians.

Budanov did not provide details on the number of people they plan to rescue or the conditions under which the mission will take place.

The day before, Dmytro Lubinets noted that it is now important to gather as much information as possible about the people who remain in Oleshky and need assistance. This primarily concerns the elderly, people with limited mobility, and those who cannot care for themselves.

He urged anyone with information about Oleshky residents in need of assistance to contact the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine and to share information about the planned mission.
