Thanks to the initiative of the President of Ukraine, Bring Kids Back UA managed to return a large family to the government-controlled territory of Ukraine - a mother and her eight children aged 5 to 17.

According to Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, the operation was conducted in cooperation with partner organizations, including Save Ukraine and the International Staff for Assistance to Ukrainians.

The family lived in the temporarily occupied Crimea, but the woman could no longer tolerate the fact that her children were growing up under occupation. She was also afraid that her older sons could be forcibly mobilized into the Russian army after they reached the age of majority. Risking everything, she decided to leave Crimea and bring her children home.

Now the mother and her children are in Ukraine. Government agencies and volunteer organizations will help them adapt and settle in a new place. Every child deserves a safe and happy childhood, and the fight for this continues.

Earlier, Intent wrote that there are about 1.5 million children in the temporarily occupied territories, all of whom are under the threat of deportation.

In early December, three children were returned from the temporarily occupied left bank of the Kherson region. They were rescued thanks to the mission of the charitable organization Save Ukraine.

Recently, a program for the return and reintegration of children abducted by Russia, including orphans, was presented in Kherson. This program is being implemented as part of the presidential initiative Bring Kids Back UA.

Previously, six children were returned from the occupied part of Kherson region. These are two girls and four boys aged 8 to 16. Among the returnees is a foster family raising a girl deprived of parental care. Her adult brother was evacuated with her.
