Border guards detain a group of 10 men in Odesa region

Soldiers of the Podil detachment of Odesa region stopped a car filled with men of military age near the state border, whose driver was trying to illegally cross the Transnistrian segment of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border.

According to the press service of the State Border Guard Service, residents of Lviv, Dnipro, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions turned to the organizer, an administrator of a telegram channel, to implement their illegal intentions.

The latter collaborated with an accomplice, a driver who was to transport all the passengers and stay in neighboring Moldova. For help with online navigation, the organizer asked each person to pay from 7 to 10 thousand USD to a crypto wallet.

The driver was reported to the National Police under Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for attempting to illegally transport people across the state border. Reports on administrative offenses under Article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses were drawn up against 10 passengers, and the cases were sent to court.

Earlier, law enforcement officers detained a 35-year-old man in Odesa region for attempting to bribe a border guard and organize an escape abroad for himself and a friend. Also in Odesa, law enforcement officers detained three men suspected of organizing the illegal transportation of conscripts to unrecognized Transnistria.

Meanwhile, Odesa police detained a 23-year-old carrier on suspicion of smuggling conscripts to Moldova.

Earlier, border guards used a drone to detect a group of 10 unidentified people in the Podil district of Odesa region.

Prosecutors also sent to court an indictment against two residents of Odesa region on the fact of organizing the illegal transportation of persons across the state border using forged documents.
