Body of Missing 16-Year-Old Anastasia Parfenova Found in Lviv Region

The body of a minor, 16-year-old Anastasia Parfenova, who was wanted by Odesa law enforcement officers, was found in the Lviv region.

According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa Oblast, no signs of violent death were found on the body.

Police received information that the girl had disappeared from her home in Odesa on March 13 from her mother on the night of March 22. Odesa police opened a criminal proceeding over the incident under Article 115 (1) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and directed police personnel and the public to search for her.

On March 24, the girl's body was found on the territory of one of the settlements of Lviv region. According to preliminary information from a forensic expert. As part of the investigation, the body of the minor was sent for examination to determine the final cause of death. All the circumstances of the tragedy are being established. The investigation is ongoing.

The police noted that this was not the first time the girl had run away from home, but she had been found alive and well on previous occasions.

In February, police and rescuers spent several hours searching for three teenagers who allegedly fell through the ice in a rural pond in Odesa Oblast. Boys aged 14 and 15 from a village in the Krasnosilska community fell through the ice on a local pond and died.

Earlier, rescuers switched to the passive phase of the search for a man who disappeared on February 6 at night after falling overboard from a ship in the port of Reni, Odesa region. The incident occurred at around 10:00. The vessel was moored to the pier when the sailor fell into the water. The crew heard his cries for help, but did not have time to save him. In the last moments, the man disappeared underwater, presumably carried away by the current.
