In Odesa, a veterinary technician who helped illegally obtain 1.84 million hryvnias in government subsidies was sentenced to two years in prison, with one year of probation. The woman fully admitted her guilt and identified her accomplices.

This is stated in the verdict of the Peresypsky District Court of Odessa.

The defendant was ordered to report periodically to probation authorities and to notify them of any change in her place of residence or employment.

According to the case file, between 2024 and 2026, while working as a veterinary technician at the Ovidiopol District Veterinary Hospital, the defendant conspired with others.

She facilitated the entry of false information into the Unified State Register of Animals. The documents contained information stating that front men allegedly kept 1,400 breeding ewes. In reality, however, no inspection or headcount of the animals was conducted, and the sheep themselves existed only on paper.

Based on the fictitious data and applications, state subsidies were unjustifiably transferred to the accounts of the front people, causing losses to the state totaling 1,840,000 hryvnias.

The woman expressed remorse in court. She actively assisted in the investigation of the crime and provided incriminating testimony against other participants in the corruption scheme.

It was previously reported that, according to the case file, the convicted woman was assisted by Volodymyr Hrek, the founder of the “Agro-Hrek” farming enterprise.

The state subsidy amounted to 2,000 hryvnias per breeding ewe.
