Odesa Regional Power Supply Company, LLC won a lawsuit against the Chornomorets soccer club regarding overdue payments for electricity consumption. Due to the delay in paying the principal debt, which amounted to over 1.7 million hryvnias, the club was additionally ordered to pay over 90,000 hryvnias in inflation-related losses and annual interest.
This is stated in the decision of the Odesa Regional Commercial Court dated October 27.
According to the case file, in the summer of 2025, FC “Chornomorets” entered into a public contract for the supply of electricity. From June through September of that year, the club consumed 249,200 kWh of electricity for a total of 1,704,336 hryvnias. However, the defendant paid only a portion of the bill—approximately 655,000 hryvnias—resulting in a significant debt.

Previously, the utility company had already won a court case to recover the principal amount of the debt. Payments were made in installments through a private enforcement agent as part of a stay of execution of the court’s decision.
Despite the repayment of the principal debt, the energy supplier again filed a lawsuit seeking compensation for losses incurred during the entire period of delayed payment. The court agreed with the plaintiff’s arguments and noted that restructuring the enforcement of the court decision does not relieve the debtor of liability for the delay in fulfilling the financial obligation.
