The Museum of the History of Kyiv opened the exhibition "Return of Memory. Stolen Art in Museum Art Prints. Kherson Collection".

This is stated on the page of the Kherson Regional Art Museum named after Oleksii Shovkunenko.

This is a joint project of the Oleksii Shovkunenko Kherson Art Museum and the Vivid Fusion art platform, which aims to return images of works in Russian captivity to the public space.

The exposition consists of 30 high-quality reproductions (art prints) of works by such prominent artists as Ivan Aivazovsky, Mykola Pimonenko, Serhiy Vasylkivsky, and Viktor Zaretsky. This is just a part of more than 10,000 exhibits that Russian looters took from Kherson in 2022.

Museum director Alina Dotsenko emphasized the importance of the project, noting that each lost work is of personal value to her: "I am often asked about my favorite work. Each painting that was kept in the museum is like a child in the family for me. Vivid Fusion founder Hanna Kryvolap added that these reproductions today are not just copies, but witnesses to a crime and a symbol of cultural resistance.

After the exhibition in Kyiv, the exhibition will go on an all-Ukrainian tour, and then abroad. Upon completion of the project, all art prints will be transferred to the funds of the Kherson Art Museum as part of its new history.

Earlier, it became known that the head of Hola Prystan , Oleksandr Babych, who was abducted almost four years ago, is being held by the occupiers in the Russian detention center-2 in Taganrog.

Bariieva said that over the years of captivity, the health of the mayor of Hola Prystan has deteriorated significantly: he has lost half his weight and suffers from critical blood pressure. Despite the absence of official charges or a verdict, the occupiers continue to keep him in the detention center because of his fundamental refusal to cooperate and organize pro-Ukrainian actions.
