Since September 24, there has been a complete lack of gasoline, including the most expensive brand A-100, at gas stations in occupied Crimea.

This was reported by Krym.Realii with reference to a local human rights activist, activist of the #LiberateCrimea campaign.

The Crimean fuel collapse is getting worse. According to local activists, the situation has been worsening over the past 10 days and has reached its culmination: gasoline has completely disappeared from gas stations.

Many gas stations are closing to avoid paying salaries to their employees. The gasoline shortage has hit both ordinary Crimeans and private businesses hard, which are suffering huge losses due to the inability to carry out transportation. There are fewer cars on the roads, and minibuses are overcrowded. Local residents openly express their dissatisfaction with the actions of the Russian authorities.

Due to the lack of fuel, the problems are growing rapidly. Taxis have to wait much longer, and the number of orders for recharging batteries from Crimean motorists has increased many times over as cars are idle without fuel. The sowing campaign, which is critically dependent on a stable supply of fuel, is also under threat.

The shortage of gasoline was caused by a temporary decline in production at Russian refineries , which led to a reduction in fuel supplies to the peninsula. In terms of the rate of increase in the price of gasoline at gas stations, this commodity was the fastest to rise in price in Crimea.

By the end of August, after several weeks of absence, A-95 gasoline appeared at gas stations in Crimea, but at a record price of 70.79 rubles per liter. The fuel shortage and sharp rise in price are attributed to the Ukrainian armed forces' strikes on Russian oil refineries. The activist of the international #LiberateCrimea noted that such a rapid jump in gasoline prices in Crimea has never been seen in this century. Given the complications in the fuel sector in Russia and the annexed Crimea, we can expect this record to be broken soon. Thus, fuel has become a scarcity and a luxury for ordinary drivers in the country of the gas station.
