Employees of the Odesa City Heat Supply Utility are currently repairing more than 20 heating network breaks across the city.

This was announced by Valeriy Ivanov, director of the utility company , during a meeting of the Standing Committee on Housing and Communal Services on October 27.

According to him, these breaks occurred after tests conducted by the utility company on the eve of the start of the heating season. City council member Oleksiy Asaulenko, in turn, asked the director of the utility to organize weekly inspections of the work sites because in some places warning tapes, signs and fences were either missing or damaged.

"In some places, I saw that the fence nets were either missing or had fallen into pits. In addition, I asked that the information stands contain information about the start and end time of the work," the deputy said.

The commission also agreed to submit to the Odesa City Council a draft decision "On granting consent to the municipal enterprise "Heat Supply of Odesa" to conclude a natural gas supply agreement with the Limited Liability Company "Gas Supply Company "Naftogaz Trading" for the period from November 2025 to March 2026."

The heating season in Odesa is expected to start on November 10. The final date will be determined depending on weather conditions.

According to Odesa CHPP, the enterprises are ready to start supplying heat. At the same time, some private management companies and condominiums delay the issuance of readiness certificates every year or fail to conclude contracts with Naftogaz, which may leave some homes without heating. According to the commission, the Ministry of Energy recommended that residents have backup power sources - generators and fuel for at least three days.
