A verdict in a criminal case was announced in Vradiyivka, Mykolaiv region. A woman who received 6225 UAH 96 kopecks of social assistance for a child, although she was not entitled to it, was brought to court.

The Vradiyivka District Court of Mykolaiv Oblast announced the verdict on July 17.

It all started back in December 2021, when a resident of the village of Lyuboivanivka applied for assistance as a single mother. And everything would have been fine, if not for one "minor" point: she lived with the child's father in a civil marriage. That is, she was not so alone.

Thanks to this "plan," she received 478 UAH 92 kopecks from the state every month. In total, more than 6 thousand per year.

At the trial, the woman pleaded guilty, repented, admitted the claim and agreed to a sentence of 200 hours of community service.

By the way, the social department that the woman "robbed" filed a civil lawsuit because, as stated in the case, the funds were "excessively received" and not returned. Therefore, the court ordered her to return all 6225 hryvnias 96 kopecks, to the last penny.

Meanwhile, another court found former MP from Mykolaiv Iryna Kormyshkina and her husband Yuriy guilty of illicit enrichment and other crimes, sentencing them to 5 years in prison with fines, but released them from serving their sentences with a probationary period of 2 years. They are also obliged to pay UAH 20 million to the budget and UAH 2 million to the Armed Forces.

The court also punished a starosta from Mykolaiv region who failed to indicate expensive real estate in her declaration. She was fined and banned from holding senior positions in local government for a year.

In addition, the Mykolaiv court upheld the guilty verdict against the head of the Mykolaiv Clinical Hospital's Medical Examiner's Office, who was accused of making obviously false official documents.
