Prosecutors of the Kyiv District Prosecutor's Office in Odesa have served a notice of suspicion to a resident of Odesa Oblast who illegally built a private two-story house on an illegally occupied land plot near the coast.

According to the press service of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office, the man is suspected of unauthorized occupation of a land plot - part 3 of Article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the man decided to build a house there without any permits for the land plot. He hired a team of workers who built a two-story house with an area of more than 118 square meters in the Kyiv district of Odesa at the beginning of the year. The house is located on a plot of 0.059 hectares, which he occupied illegally.

At the request of the prosecutor, the court seized the unauthorized house. If found guilty, the suspect faces a fine of one thousand to four thousand tax-free minimum incomes, or probationary supervision for up to three years, or restraint of liberty for the same period.

Earlier, a court in Odesa ruled to recover from the company more than UAH 2.8 million that the company had unjustifiably kept without paying rent for the use of 0.4 hectares of land.

Earlier, the prosecutor's office also notified the company's director of suspicion of unauthorized construction on the Lanzheron beach embankment. The director is suspected of unauthorized construction in a recreational area near the Black Sea coast. Since 2022, the hotel complex has been operating, the company has been making a profit, and part of the unauthorized land plot has been used for free. As a result of these actions, the local budget is losing money, and the local community is not using valuable land.
