In Mykolaiv, a man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for high treason. The court found him guilty of collaborating with Russian special services and passing on intelligence about the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation found that in August 2024, the defendant initiated the cooperation himself by contacting the administrator of a pro-Russian channel via Telegram. He collected intelligence information, including the geolocation of Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile systems, including foreign-made ones, and data on the consequences of Russian attacks on military and infrastructure facilities.

In addition, he conducted surveillance from his high-rise building, recording the movement of Ukrainian troops towards the front, the number of vehicles and types of weapons. The traitor passed the data to Serhiy Lebedev, a pro-Kremlin blogger born in Mykolaiv (pseudonym 'Shaggy'). Currently, the traitor is hiding in Donetsk and cooperates with the FSB and Russian military intelligence.

In November 2024, the man who leaked the data was detained, and a cell phone with evidence of his espionage activities was seized during a search.

As a reminder, Intent wrote about the suspicion served on blogger Lebedev in 2023. The agency noted that "Shaggy" involved a resident of Zakarpattia in covert cooperation, who "leaked" the locations of military units in the region to the blogger.

In addition, Lebedev has repeatedly participated in the preparation of paid-for stories from the temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine for Russian television. In his materials, he discredited the top military and political leadership of Ukraine and supported Moscow's aggressive policy.

Based on the evidence collected, SBU investigators served the offender a notice of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 2 of Art. 111 (high treason committed under martial law) and Part 5 of Art. 27, Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war).
