Vladimir Sagan, a professor at the Odessa College of Theater and Fine Arts who had been awarded a state scholarship from the President of Ukraine, has died in Odessa.
The college’s press office announced his death.
The college expressed its condolences and emphasized that Sagan will be remembered for his contributions to the students, the college, and the theater. The cause of death was not specified in the statement.
In October 2025, Volodymyr Sagan was included in the list of 164 cultural and artistic figures who were awarded state scholarships by Decree No. 807/2025 of the President of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Sagan was a theater educator, director, and professor in the Department of Performing Arts at the Luhansk State Academy of Culture and Arts (Kyiv), as well as an Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine.
The Odesa Theater and Art Vocational College is a vocational pre-higher education institution founded in December 1920. It trains specialists in the fields of theater, film, and television, awarding the educational and professional degree of “Associate Bachelor’s Degree.”
The college trains future actors, directors, artists, makeup artists, costume designers, set designers, sound engineers, lighting technicians, photographers, and cinematographers. Its graduates work in theaters, film, creative studios, and the media.
Over its more than 100-year history, the institution has changed its name several times and has trained generations of professionals in the arts.
