An accident involving a shuttle bus occurred on July 9 on the Odessa-Kyiv highway near the village of Odaï, in the Shyryaivska community.
According to the press office of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa region, the accident occurred in the morning.
Preliminary findings indicate that a MAN truck collided with a Mercedes minibus that was providing private passenger transportation services. According to preliminary information, there were 15 passengers and the driver inside the minibus.
As a result of the traffic accident, one person is believed to have died, and five others sustained injuries. An investigative team from the local police department and officers from the patrol police response unit are working at the scene. Law enforcement officials are determining all the circumstances and causes of the traffic accident. Traffic heading toward Odesa is partially restricted.
Earlier, police announced that they had named a 45-year-old Nissan Murano driver as a suspect following a traffic accident in which 12 people were killed. According to investigators, the man caused the accident by driving in his own lane toward a minibus.
The accident killed the 49-year-olddriver and 11 passengers of the minibus. Six more people are in hospitals under medical supervision. Among the injured is a 15-year-old girl.
According to police, the driver of a Nissan Murano was traveling in the oncoming lane relative to the minibus and caused the accident.
The driver of the crossover was taken intocustody. On July 5, investigators informed him that he was suspected of violating traffic laws, which resulted in the deaths of several people. In Mykolaiv, Sunday, July 5,was declared a Day of Mourning following the trafficaccident that killed 12 people. Among the victims were employees of “Mykolaivelektrotrans” and their family members.
