Investigators of the Kherson region police have served a local resident with a notice of suspicion for organizing the educational process according to the standards of the aggressor country.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kherson region.

The report says that during the occupation of Kherson, a 42-year-old local resident voluntarily agreed to cooperate with the invaders. The defendant became the "head of the department" of one of the faculties of the educational institution seized by the occupiers. Currently, she has been served a notice of suspicion of collaboration in absentia. The woman faces three years in prison.

According to Chermen Tuskaev, Deputy Head of the Investigation Department of the Kherson Police, the information about the woman's involvement in committing a crime against the national security of Ukraine was received by operatives of the SBU regional offices and strategic investigations. Thus, law enforcement officers found that after the occupation of the regional center, the illegally created local authorities seized Kherson National University. On its basis, the occupiers created a "state-funded educational institution of higher education in the Kherson region, the Kherson Technical University." In July 2022, the defendant agreed to the invaders' offer to work in the illegally created institution. The woman was appointed to the position of "head of the department" of design at the pseudo-university. The defendant "managed" the work of the department according to the educational standards of the aggressor country. Thus, in the new academic year, she organized the educational process exclusively in Russian and personally taught the disciplines at the department in the language of the invaders. This ensured the direct involvement of students in the educational process, organized according to the educational standards of the Russian Federation. In addition, in accordance with the requirements of her position, the defendant ensured the implementation of curricula and work programs, as well as monitored the quality of teaching disciplines, educational, methodological and scientific activities of the department's teachers in accordance with state educational standards of the Russian Federation. After the de-occupation of Kherson and the relocation of the technical base of the seized Ukrainian university to Genichesk, the pseudo-head continued her illegal activities.

Investigators classified the illegal actions of the suspect under Part 3 of Art. 111-1 "Collaboration" of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. That is, the actions of Ukrainian citizens aimed at implementing the education standards of the aggressor state in educational institutions. Currently, in coordination with the regional prosecutor's office, the offender was served in absentia a notice of suspicion of committing a crime against the national security of Ukraine. The suspect may face imprisonment for up to three years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of 10 to 15 years.
