A mobile pharmacy operated by the Ukrainian Red Cross Society has ceased operations in the Kherson region. It had previously provided medication to residents of frontline communities where brick-and-mortar pharmacies were not operating.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

Residents of de-occupied settlements were informed that they can now order necessary medications—including through the “Affordable Medicines” program—via the state-run service “Ukrposhta. Pharmacy.”

The Regional Military Administration noted that in the first nine months of this year, 1,354 orders have already been delivered to 55 settlements via post offices in the region.

The service allows users to order both over-the-counter medications and drugs under the government’s “Affordable Medicines” program (via an electronic prescription). The Regional State Administration recommended placing orders in consultation with a family doctor when obtaining a prescription.

The Red Cross mobile pharmacy is a specially equipped vehicle that delivered essential medications to de-occupied and frontline villages in the Kherson region, where regular pharmacies had closed due to shelling. The project helped local residents obtain medications directly in their own communities.

As Intent reported, in Kherson, during the latest amendments to the city budget, funding for primary health care was cut by 1.4 million hryvnias, and another 440,000 hryvnias were diverted from other health care programs and initiatives.

In contrast, 1.8 million hryvnias were added to funding for multidisciplinary inpatient care. An additional 25,000 hryvnias were allocated to dental care, and 44,160 hryvnias were allocated to healthcare administration and management.
