In Odesa, a local resident with experience in printing was convicted of forging documents to evade mobilization. As part of an organized group, the man produced fake certificates, reports, records, IDs, and seals.

This is stated in the verdict of the Peresypsky District Court of Odesa.

The man was found guilty of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was sentenced to five years in prison. Taking into account his full admission of guilt, sincere remorse, active cooperation with the investigation, and serious illness, the court suspended his sentence with a three-year probationary period.

The computer equipment and printing equipment used in the criminal activity were confiscated as state revenue. The court ordered the destruction of the forged documents and seals.

The case file noted that the defendant, together with three accomplices, had established a scheme to produce forged official documents in exchange for monetary compensation. Using fake medical reports and certificates regarding the alleged need for care for people with disabilities, the group’s clients received illegal deferrals from mobilization or grounds for discharge from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is noted that the finished forgeries were sent to clients by mail.

Case files indicate that at least ten people avoided conscription or were illegally discharged from service through this scheme.
