Oleg Palchikov, a soldier in the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade—which is part of the 3rd Army Corps—with the call sign "Arni," wrote a novel while serving on the front lines. On November 8 in Odesa, he presented his book, “Antinomist: Keos ex Machina.”
This was reported by an Intent correspondent who attended the presentation.
According to the author, he worked on the novel mainly at night, when he had free time between combat missions. The idea for the book originated even before the full-scale war began, but Palchikov was able to complete it during his military service.
“The novel is more philosophical. Yes, there’s action, there are events, but there’s also the philosophy of Carl Jung, the art of David Lynch, and Roger Zelazny—the golden age of American science fiction that I grew up on,” the author said.
“Antinomist: Keos ex Machina” is Oleg Palchikov’s debut novel and the first part of a planned trilogy in the genre of philosophical science fiction.
At the center of the plot is a protagonist who has no memory of his past. The only clue to his name is the inscription “KEOS” on a mysterious plaque. To regain his memory and understand who he is, the character embarks on a dangerous journey through a mystical world, where he will have to choose between an imposed role and his own identity.

Among the sources of inspiration for creating this universe, the presentation organizers cited the works of Roger Zelazny, Erich Maria Remarque, Howard Lovecraft, the video game *Dark Souls*, and the surrealist art of David Lynch.
