In Izmail, Odesa region, it was decided to give a new name to the street, namely Evropeiska passage, which previously had no name.

This is reported by Intent with reference to the relevant decision of the Executive Committee of the Izmail City Council of July 16.

This is a section of the road that runs between the multi-storey buildings at 4, 4-A, 6 and 6-A Evropeiska Street (formerly known as Gagarina Street) and leads to the Assol-A residential complex, to Poperechna Street. It was granted the status of a public road of local importance.

It should be noted that this section is equipped with zebra crossings, metal fencing at intersections and a faceted asphalt surface. The name "European passage" has been approved for further official registration. Organizational issues are being handled by the City Council's Department of Urban Planning and Architecture. This department must submit documents to the Odesa branch of the state enterprise "National Information Systems" to enter the new street into the State Register of Real Property Rights.

Earlier, activists of the NGO Decolonization.Ukraine once again updated their map with the number of streets that they believe should be renamed, reducing their number in Odesa region from 194 to 179.

Electronic public discussions on the renaming of two streets, a lane and a park in Odesa, which began on May 1, ended on July 1 with citizens supporting the renaming of three place names.

They did not support the proposal to rename Kanatny Lane in Odesa's Prymorskyi district after Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu. The renaming was supported by 169 out of 503 people who took part in the poll, while 334 voted against it.
