Today, on August 10, Mykolaiv residents gathered in the city center to pay tribute to the Ukrainian military who died defending the country.

This was reported by Suspilne Mykolaiv.

Traditionally, the meeting place was the intersection of Soborna Street and Tsentralnyi Avenue. Mykhailo Morozov, head of the preventive communication sector of the National Police, said that about 30 people had gathered. The participants stopped and honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence. The organizers and participants emphasize that this monthly tradition is important to keep the memory of the heroes alive and their deeds remembered.

As a reminder, Mykolaiv residents come to the rallies regularly. People met to honor the memory of the fallen Ukrainian soldiers in Olenivka. Residents and activists gathered for a nationwide minute of silence. The action was dedicated to the third anniversary of the terrorist attack. A metronome counted down sixty beats over a loudspeaker. After that, the Ukrainian anthem was played.

As a result of the exchange of prisoners of war, marines from Mykolaiv returned to Ukraine. According to the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynsky, the brigade's patronage service met our brothers on Ukrainian soil. The brigade also noted that the military will have a period of recovery and adaptation ahead.

In Odesa, people are also reminding of the prisoners of war. According to new data from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, at least 177 Ukrainian prisoners have died in Russian captivity since the Kremlin's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
