A man from Kherson who kept track of abducted resistance members was detained in Mykolaiv

A man was detained in Mykolaiv who, during the occupation of Kherson, worked at the “regional department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs” established by the Russians. He helped keep records of abducted members of the resistance movement.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

Before the full-scale war, the man worked as a general laborer at a local metal processing plant. After the capture of Kherson, he agreed to work for the Russian occupation administration.

According to the SBU, the detainee held the position of “assistant to the duty officer.” He kept records of people whom the Russians detained and imprisoned in the cells of the occupation district police department.

After Kherson was liberated, the man left for Mykolaiv. There, he got a job as a security guard at a café and arranged to live on the premises so as not to draw attention to himself.

Law enforcement officers located him and detained him near his workplace.

The man was notified that he is suspected of violating Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—collaboration. He is currently being held in custody without the right to bail.

He faces up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property for his actions.

Recently, the SBU’s counterintelligence unit detained another Russian collaborator in Kherson—an FSB agent whom the Russian intelligence service recruited at the start of the full-scale invasion.

After the liberation of the right bank of the Kherson region, he remained in so-called “sleeper” mode for a long time and was later tasked with gathering information on the Ukrainian military.

Meanwhile, in the Odesa region, three local residents were sentenced for passing information about Ukrainian military facilities to Russian intelligence. Among them were a former serviceman who organized the group, an active-duty soldier, and a woman.
