Yuriy Tyumin, a judge of the Chornomorsk City Court of Odesa Oblast, filed a complaint with the High Council of Justice against interference in his work.

In the complaint, the judge stated that he had ruled on three lawsuits, and that as an investigating judge, one of the parties involved in the case had repeatedly filed lawsuits against him in court, thus trying to put pressure on him.

The judge stated that this was done to force him to make the right decisions, creating the impression that making decisions not in favor of the defendants in the case would result in difficulties, problems, or create hassle for the judge.

Instead, member of the High Council of Justice Roman Maselko reviewed the judge's complaint and concluded that there were no grounds to take measures to ensure the independence of judges and the authority of justice. The High Council of Justice approved this conclusion.

Judges from Odesa region, as well as their colleagues from other regions, regularly complain to the High Council of Justice about interference in their work. The HCJ responds in different ways. For example, the High Council of Justice asked the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine to provide information on the disclosure and investigation of criminal offenses on the facts of interference in the activities of two judges in Odesa region. The judges in question are Nadiya Shevchuk, a judge of the Khadzhybey District Court of Odesa, and Vadym Spichak, a judge of the Ovidiopol District Court of Odesa Oblast. In both cases, the judges reported that they had to call the Court Security Service to tame the participants in the conflict with them.

Also, the High Council of Justice brought to disciplinary responsibility a judge of the Podilskyi City District Court of Odesa Region, Oleh Ivinskyi, and imposed a disciplinary sanction in the form of a motion for dismissal.
